THOUSANDS of seadogs formed a human skull and crossbones on the beach on Friday as the centrepiece of another buzzing Pirate Day.
Streets bristled with cutlasses as bucaneers from across the country descended on Hastings to enjoy a day packed with events.
Organiser “Jolly” Roger Crouch said the day had been more than he could hope for.
“There were far more pirates than last year. The whole town was full of them. Expectations were high and I’m very proud that it lived up to everyone’s hopes.”
