Revised waste collections over Christmas

REVISED collection days for rubbish and recyclables over the Christmas period will be in force.

There will be no garden waste collection during Christmas week and New Year’s week. These will restart on Tuesday, January 7 with Monday’s collection.

Cllr Jay Kramer lead member for environment and safety at Hastings Borough Council, said: “Collections will not be made on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so our revised collection day schedule reflects this and all collections will return to normal from Monday, January 13.

“Christmas trees can be recycled in the brown garden waste bin, if you have one or taken to Harmers lay-by off Upper Park Road, Alexandra Park from Saturday, December 28 to Monday, January 13 or of course to Pebsham Household Waste Recycling Centre on Bexhill Road.”

The council will be providing detailed 2014 ‘collection day’ calendars. These will be delivered to residents over the next week.

For full information about collection dates for waste throughout the Christmas and New Year period residents should visit www.hastings.gov.uk for full waste and recycling details in your area.
