A NEW tapestry designed by residents and staff at a St Leonards care home has been unveiled.
Hastings MP Amber Rudd visited Leolyn in Pevensey Road to celebrate the unveiling. The piece marks National Care Home Day 2014.
She said: “I was delighted to be invited along to Leolyn Care Home to unveil the brand new tapestry. It is a wonderful piece of work that all residents and staff played a part in constructing. It is a lovely warm and welcoming piece of art work that really brightens up the entrance hall. I’d like to thank Ann and her team for the hard work they put in on a daily basis. I am always deeply impressed and inspired by all those who work in the health and care industry, it is a tough job, but all those at Leolyn Care Home show an ease and dedication to their work that is incredibly inspiring. This is a great example of how a fantastic care home should be.”
Ann Holland, general manager at Leolyn, said: “Our residents have done some wonderful, creative work and we are very proud to be able to hang the quilt up at the home in memory of everyone’s efforts and to commemorate our involvement in National Care Home Open Day.”
