Reclaim May Day march in Hastings

A Reclaim May Day march, part of The Hastings Trades Union Council Festival, took place in the town today (May 1).

The trade unions met at the General Havelock this lunchtime before marching to Hastings Pier to the sounds of the Sussex Brass Band.

A May Day rally and brass band concert followed.

Meanwhile the group will hold a fundraising event at the Electric Palace on Tuesday (May 3).

The cinema will screen Ken Loach’s film The Navigators, plus a short film called United We Will Swim...Again, which is about a community fighting to save its local swimming pool.

Proceeds from this event will go to the Hastings Trades Union group.
