“I have really enjoyed getting to know the children and families at The Baird over the last few months, whilst continuing to work with everyone at Hollington,” he said.

“There are many complementary strengths across the two academies and I look forward to new opportunities to share good practice and implement our vision for the continuing improvement of the two schools.”

Both academies are part of the Hastings Academies Trust and its chief executive Paul Griffiths said: “John is a highly skilled and experienced school leader, and I am delighted that both Hollington and The Baird will benefit from his leadership and expertise as they continue their journey to outstanding status.”

The trust is currently recruiting new primary classroom teachers to join the team at The Baird.

“This is a fantastic time to join our team of expert classroom practitioners; all new teachers will be provided with personalised coaching support, as well as access to a wide range of professional development opportunities, including those offered by the trust’s sponsor, the University of Brighton,” Mr Griffiths said.
