PASSENGERS received an early Christmas present in time for the festive season in the form of a new bus stop.
Elderly residents in Tenterden Rise asked if they could have a bus stop to allow them to safely catch the bus into town. Cllr Andrew Batsford alongside local resident Roy Lewes sprung into action to ensure a new one was up and working in time for Christmas.
Cllr Batsford said: “I was so pleased to be able to action the residents’ wishes so quickly. It’s so important to me to know the elderly in St Helens ward have access to safe transport links and with the incredibly quick and positive response from officers we were able to deliver this.” Mr Lewes said: “The installation of this bus stop makes a huge difference to the lives of those dependent on the bus service.”
