Man robbed and attacked

A man was attacked and robbed of his mobile phone while on the way home in St Leonards.

The 21-year-old victim was walking in West Hill Road near the junction with Archery Road when a man approached him, demanding he give him his phone.

The pair then fought, during which the victim was struck in the head before the robber ran off towards Boscobel Road.

Police said the attack happened between 3am and 4am on Friday, February 21.

The robber was white, 6ft and slim. He had bushy eyebrows and was wearing a Nike hooded top with the hood up covering his hair and a dark coloured scarf that was pulled up across the lower part of his face.

PC Grant Holman said: “Although this happened in the early hours of the morning, someone may have seen or heard the incident. If you know anything or recognise the description of the offender please contact me.”
