Man bitten by dog is taken to hospital

A MAN was bitten by a dog in the town centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Sunday, June 22.

The man was with friends playing with the dog in Wellington Square at around 7.45pm when he was bitten on the left forearm. He was taken to the Conquest Hospital and underwent two operations. The dog’s owner drove away from the scene. The make of the car is unknown but the dog is described as a pit bull type that is black and yellow. Witnesses should call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1402 of 22/6.
