MEMBERS of Hastings Coastal Twirlers gathered at Hollington School last week to present the group’s founder and leader, Teresa Lewis, with a trophy.

Teresa formed the majorettes’ troupe 30 years ago when she was just 15.

Robert Morgan, chairman of Hastings Old Town Carnival Committee, presented her with the trophy last Tuesday (January 21).

Hastings Coastal Twirlers has won many competitions and taken part in numerous community events under Teresa’s leadership.

The majorettes have also completed many sponsored fundraising walks along Hastings seafront, raising more than £6,000 in total for charities.
