Two men have been charged with blackmail, driving offences and making off without payment following a police pursuit of them from Hastings to Kent on Thursday (October 10).
The vehicle a Honda was eventually forced to stop in Newenden Kent at 7am after it failed to stop for officers in Mount Road, Hastings. at 6.30am. A pursuit by police was authorised and the two men were arrested.
Stefan Gilmore, 21, of no fixed address, is charged with blackmail, making off without payment, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance, and Liam Perry, 21, of Warrior Gardens, St Leonards, is charged with blackmail and making off without payment. They appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (October 11) and were remanded in custody.
