Organisers of this year’s Hastings Week are busy preparing for the annual celebration.
This year will see the 948th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings from October, 14, 1066 celebrated with more than a week of events starting on October 11 through to the 19.
Festivities include the two-day Classic Car Show on the Stade at the beginning of the week and the magnificent Hastings Bonfire with torchlit procession and fireworks on Saturday the 18th.
There will be the arrival of the Historic Commercial Vehicle Run, the ‘Sprat & Winkle’ on the Stade on Sunday October 19 with a full week of concerts, shows, walks, talks and exhibitions in between.
The classic car show runs from 10am to 3pm from at the Stade showing cars and motorcycles up to 1988
Participating eateries are providing a ‘Hastings Week Meal Deal’ during the week of a meal for two for only £10.66.
Hastings Week Committee spokesman Ion Castro, who also produced the printed programme, said: “We produced the programme ourselves and are very grateful to the advertisers who funded the publication.
“The year’s event promises to be better than ever with more events all over the town providing a huge variety for everyone of all ages.
“It’s all in the programme and you can pick one up, free, from the Hastings Information Centre and all the usual outlets or, of course see it all on our website”
