Fishing day nets money for two charities

A BUILDING firm raised more than £1,200 for charity by hosting its second annual fishing day.

Parker Building Supplies Ltd held the event on June 7 in aid of St Michael’s Hospice and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The money was split evenly between the two charities.

More than a dozen keen anglers participated in the event which took place at Clive Vale reservoirs, courtesy of Clive Vale Angling Club. Shane Pope, organiser, said: “It was a great day for everyone and we saw some beautiful fish being caught including a 7lb 14oz common carp and a 3lb koi carp, with most anglers hooking some immaculate looking fish. We are extremely grateful to everyone who attended.”
