A 42-year-old man has been ordered to pay £355 after he was successfully prosecuted for not cleaning up after his dog while on the beach.
William Green of Pevensey Road, St Leonards was summonsed to Hastings Magistrates Court on July 2.
Green was in charge of a black Labrador type dog on December 3 2013 when he failed to remove its mess from the award winning beach at Marina, St Leonards. Green failed to attend court and was found guilty in absence with a fine of £100, £225 costs and £20 victim surcharge. Councillor Emily Westley, lead member for environment and safety said: “Our rapid response to complaints demonstrate our zero tolerance to dog fouling.”
