SUSSEX Coast College has launched a campaign to improve customer service in Hastings.
It set up the initiative on March 18 and was also awarded the status of WorldHost Centre of Excellence in the field.
It is offering free WorldHost customer service training to businesses and the community.
The campaign will focus on supporting businesses in the tourism, hospitality, catering and retail sector to achieve WorldHost business recognition status. Businesses can achieve WorldHost recognition once 50 per cent of their frontline staff have completed any of the WorldHost programmes.
The training will also be offered to unemployed learners in partnership with Job Centre Plus with the aim of up-skilling and supporting people into work.
Jeremy Birch, leader of Hastings Borough Council, spoke about the importance of supporting and investing in tourism and business at last month’s launch.
