A GROUP of ambitious architects will unveil new and exciting redevelopment plans for Hastings and St Leonards this week.

On display will be plans and drawings of 13 areas identified for redevelopment and So Create a Difference Hastings will be encouraging people to write, draw and talk about their own ideas for the future development of the town.

Ken Davis, of Hastings Urban Design Group, said: “Along with many others in the local community, architects have lots of ideas about possibilities for the future of Hastings and St Leonards. Architects are trained to help people to make their ideas about the built environment into reality – and So Create A Difference Hastings will enable everybody to be included in a creative response to the town’s future.

“At the same time, we want residents and local businesses to see the importance of having an overarching plan for the town. An open approach, where the brief for each site is assessed for design quality as part of a master plan, is vital for Hastings and St Leonards’ future success.”

The event will be held this Saturday, from 10am-4pm, in a pop-up opposite Waterstones in Priory Meadow.
