Hastings and Rye MP Amber Rudd has been appointed as an assistant whip in today’s (Monday’s) Government reshuffle.
Amber, who was made Parliamentary Private Secretary to Chancellor George Osborne last year, said she was ‘delighted’ to be offered the role by Prime Minister David Cameron this afternoon.
She added: “He offered me the job of whip which I accepted. Being a whip will enable me to learn about how legislation gets through Parliament and much more about how Parliament operates with Ministers and MPs. Knowing this will make me more effective as an MP, and of better service to my constituency of Hastings and Rye.
“I am delighted and looking forward to the new challenge.”
