AN aspiring young actor is starring in a movie being screened at the Electric Palace tomorrow (Saturday).
Alfie Field, 15, of Emanuel Road, features in Side By Side, a film about a brother and sister who run away as they are about to be put in care.
Facing the prospect of the rest of their childhood apart, they run away in search of the only person who can keep their family together, their estranged grandfather.
Alfie, a student at St Richard’s Catholic College in Bexhill, will also be available for a Q&A session after the 8pm screening.
The teenager’s proud father, Russell, said: “Alfie has had great fun since his first short film acting alongside seasoned professional Steve Furst nearly eight years ago. After this success he secured speaking parts in TV shows such as Basil Brush, Dick and Dom and Doctor Who.
“His first feature film was The Awakening, acting along side Dominic West and Emelda Staunton and then went on to act with Daniel Radcliffe in The Woman in Black.”
The teenager played a boy in the 2012 film who brings his dying sister into a police station.
Alfie also trod the boards at the National Theatre with a three-month run of an Ibsen adaptation with Claire Skinner.
On a different tack Alfie did some voice-over work for Disney as Claude the polar bear, which led him on to become the voice of CBeebies Mike the Knight for the first 52 episodes, until his voice broke.
Mr Russell added: “Alfie is concentrating on his GCSEs now but has managed to do a couple of short films and will appear, very briefly, in a new BBC3 comedy Siblings later this year.”
