1066 Walk in aid of two local charities

The 1066 Walk in aid of St Michael’s Hospice and the Rotary Club of Battle is returning for another year on September 26, so be sure to dig out your hiking boots.

Following the footsteps of William the Conqueror, this fascinating historical walk will take in the local sites, such as Ashburnham Forge and Herstmonceux Castle, before ending in Battle, the scene of King Harold’s defeat.

Marcia Dart, the hospice’s fundraising team leader, said: “As this is a sponsored event to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice and charities supported by the Rotary Club of Battle, we are urging people throughout Hastings and Rother to participate in this beautiful walk.”

The registration is £5 and for more information call Marica on 01424 456381 or email fundraising@stmichaelshospice.com.
