Waste collections suspended in Hastings today

ALL waste and recycling collections in Hastings are suspended until Wednesday (January 23) as a number of minor roads are difficult to negotiate due to snow and ice.

Normal collections should resume on Wednesday, when residents are asked to put their bins out as normal.

Monday and Tuesday collection will take place over the weekend (January 26 and 27), and residents should put out their recycling bins for collection by 7am on Saturday morning.

Medical Waste and garden waste collections will also resume on Wednesday, and bookings for bulky waste collection can be taken for an earliest collection of Friday.

Exact times for collection will depend on any further changes to the weather.

The waste contractor’s staff are clearing ice and snow from footpaths and shopping areas in the meantime.
