Two arrested on suspicion of burglary

TWO men were arrested on suspicion of burglary after a member of the public noticed expensive tools lying alongside a house late at night.

Police were called to Mount Road at 11.25pm on January 20, where the tools appeared to have been removed from a garage adjoining the house.

A short while later, they stopped a van in Fellows Road and arrested two men.

Inspector Gareth Evans, from the Hastings neighbourhood policing team, said: “This is a great example of a member of the public acting on instinct and telling us straight away. A good description was provided leading our officers to make the two arrests. I would encourage anyone who sees what they believe is a crime taking place to call us straight away on 999.”

The two men aged 23 and 39, both from Hastings, were later bailed until April 4.
