A ROMANIAN couple are counting on making a success of their Transylvanian themed restaurant by offering unusual dishes like Count Dracula’s Head and Wine.

The historic Crown House on Marina has been taken over by husband and wife team Costas and Anca Ionesi.

The couple have spent the winter refurbishing the building which boasts a Blue Plaque commemorating Queen Victoria’s overnight stay in 1834.

Costas, 52, already runs Romanian and Greek restaurants in London and has brought in a traditional Romanian chef.

The function room is available for free hire at weekends and customers can try out traditional Romanian cuisine throughout the week.

Dracula’s Head is a huge smorgasbord of various meats and vegetables and Dracula’s Wine is a traditional Romanian type.

Anca, 30, said: “We are very excited about our venture.

“There is no place like it in the town and we expect a lot of people to come here from places like London during the summer time.

“Our food is very authentic but we offer something for everyone. We also serve coffee in the afternoons and have a carvery on Sundays.

“This is a building with a lot of history especially with Queen Victoria’s visit and we intend to make the most of it. We must also thank Stamco for their help.” For more information call the Crown House on 435099
