Thieves steal from two cars abandoned in snow

THIEVES broke into two cars abandoned by the side of the road on Monday evening because of the snow.

The rear window of a red Ford Fiesta was smashed and a suitcase stolen from inside while it was left in Crowhurst Road, St Leonards, overnight on Monday (March 11). In the same road on the same night, a document wallet and Sat Nav were taken from a black Vauxhall Insignia.

PC Andy Lancaster, of Hastings response investigation team, said: “Someone has clearly taken advantage of the terrible weather and preyed on these two abandoned cars.”

Any witness or anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 464 of 12/3. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
