Thief cons way into disabled man’s house

A THIEF conned his way into a disabled man’s house and stole a laptop and £50.

The thief called at the home of the 61-year-old man in Pine Avenue around 12.45pm on Sunday.

He said he needed change for a taxi journey and the homeowner let him in.

He took the £50 note and the laptop and left.

Police have described the suspect as white, aged 25-35, 5’8” to 5’9” of stocky build and with short cropped brown hair, a beard and moustache. He was wearing a grey fleece zip-up jacket, a grey lightish sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

Detective sergeant Tony Webb said: “This was a despicable crime against a disabled man in his own home, and we are seeking any information about the individual responsible.
