Winchelsea Road was closed for a time this morning, with vehicles stuck in the queue that built up as a result and a vehicle turned on its side in Udimore Road, near Rye, as a result of the snow.

There are reports of black ice and long delays on some country roads.

St Mary’s Lane in Bexhill partially blocked in both directions between the Turkey Road junction and the A269 Ninfield Road junction, because of an accident involving three vehicles.

The Met Office forecast snow over last night - and there is more too come.

They have forecast snow for for most of Monday and overnight into Tuesday.

But the good news is it is going to get warmer on Wednesday and Thursday.

Some schools are closing early: Elphinstone Community School, Torfield School and Dudley Infants School in Hastings and Saxon Mount School, St Leonards Church of England Primary School in St Leonards are among the latest.
