Police seek damaged VW car

POLICE are seeking witnesses to an incident in Ivyhouse Lane, Three Oaks, near Hastings, between 7.50pm and 8.30pm on Wednesday 20 March. A blue Volkswagen left the road, colliding with a telegraph pole and damaging the wall of a nearby property before leaving the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen a badly damaged Volkswagen in the area around that time.

PC Richard Trundle, of the Sussex Road Policing Unit, said; “We don’t believe the car, which the debris found at the scene shows to be a VW, could have driven far after the collision due to the significant damage we found at the scene.

“Anyone who saw this vehicle in the area, or who has noticed fresh damage to a similar vehicle since, is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1448 of 20/3”.

The vehicle has not yet been found.
