PIANISTS stopped Priory Meadow shoppers in their tracks, when they tinkled the ivories as part of the Piano Week programme.

The baby grand piano was placed in the shopping centre last Friday (March 8), and the event has been hailed as a resounding success. Crowds of shoppers stopped throughout the day to listen to music played by everyone from professionals, to students (including Isobel Richardson, pictured) and even passers-by, who took the opportunity to step into the limelight.

Piano Week is part of the Hastings International Piano Concerto competition, the final of which is tomorrow evening (Saturday).
