Pancake toss in aid of pier

THE THIRD annual St Leonards Toss Off pancake race is being held by Marine Quarter traders in aid of the pier.

The event will take place on the promenade opposite Marine Court on Tuesday, February 12 at 11am.

It will be compered by Maria McErlane from the Graham Norton show.

There are races for individuals and for teams of four with special prizes for those in fancy dress.

For the first time this year there will also be a race for local dogs.

Organiser Helen Crichton Jenner, of Heaven on Sea, said: “We are hoping this year will be the biggest most successful Toss Off ever.

“With the recent good news about the pier we want to raise as much as possible to help with the fund raising.

“We need local people, groups and businesses to help by sending along tossers to join in, by donating prizes or just coming along to enjoy the fun.

“We’ll supply the pancakes, just bring your own pan.”

Proceeds go to Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust.
