Music to the ears of shoppers

CLASSICAL pianists will be entertaining shoppers as part of the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition.

Professionals and up-and-coming pianists will be playing a baby grand piano situated in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre from March 8 to 12, to mark Piano Week.

A range of performers from students through to professionals will play given slots throughout the day with special empty slots created to encourage passers-by and shoppers to demonstrate hidden piano skills in front of an audience.

Other events taking place during Piano Week (March 11 to 16) include a piano masterclass, film screening and Q&A session at Electric Palace Cinema and the final with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
