Mum in court after being caught drink driving
A mum who was caught drink driving was banned from her childrens' home by magistrates.
Amanda Kilikita, 36, of Mount Pleasant Road, appeared at Hastings Magistrates Court last week charged with drink driving, criminal damage and taking a car without the owner's permission.
She pleaded guilty to both driving offences after admitting taking her husband's Mercedes on July 19 last year and being over the limit.
However, there was some dispute over how much over the limit she was because Kilikita claimed she had drunk a bottle of Stella and some whisky after leaving the car.
She also admitted damaging a front door, lock and cupboard at her former family home in Salcey Close on December 19 - causing 395 worth of damage.
The court heard Kilikita had already been given a suspended sentence in June last year and that, despite addressing a long-standing drinking problem, she had recently relapsed and begun boozing heavily again.
Kilikita was given a two year community order included a supervision requirement. She was also told not to go to her former home in Salcey Close for six months and was banned from driving for 28 months.
The existing suspended sentence was extended for six months and she was told to pay court costs of 120.
