Motorist cut from car after head on crash

Firemen had to cut a motorist free from the wreckage after a head on collision between two cars on Telham Road.

The crash, between a maroon Vauxhall Astra and another dark coloured car, left someone trapped in the wreckage of the two cars after the accident at just gone 11am this morning.

They were freed by fire crews using specialist cutting equipment.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Three ambulances and two paramedic response cars were called to the scene and three people were taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

One patient sustained injury caused by a seatbelt whilst another person was suffering from back and pelvic pain.

Fire crews, police and ambulances from Hastings were called to the scene and traffic in and out of Battle is backed up as a result of the crash.

Police say the road is due to reopen shortly.
