Money handed over to rehabilitation centre by church
St Leonards Community Group from Kings Church present funds to the Friends of Mulberry House, St Leonards. Jill and Pete Tickner, Fiona Webb, John Okines, Lesley Shareif and Jason Osborne.
A SPECIALIST rehabilitation centre in St Leonards for adults with acquired brain injury has been given more than £200 from King’s Church Hastings.
Mulberry House, in Hollington Park Road, received £230 from St Leonards Community Group on Friday, bringing the group’s total support to £1,000 since last summer.
St Leonards Community Group is part of and funded by King’s Church Hastings, and is led by church members Fiona and Peter Webb. The first link with Mulberry House was when the group joined residents for Christmas carols in December 2011.
Following this, members of the group started to go into Mulberry House, working with residents using crafts activity for therapy.
Lisa Tritton, Mulberry House manager, said: “What fantastic people there are in the St Leonards Community Group, supporting the Friends of Mulberry House, so they can raise funds for so many projects to help our residents, as well as coming in to help with craft therapy.”
Fiona Webb said: “We are so impressed with the dedicated care that Mulberry House gives to its residents and anything we can do to add that little bit extra to the residents’ lives is so worthwhile.”
