Man rescued by paramedic from sea off St Leonards
A man was rescued from rough seas by a paramedic on Sunday evening.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered on a rock opposite Warrior Square Gardens in St Leonards in difficulties at around 8.15pm.
Paramedics were called to the scene after being alerted by the coastguard.
Richard Airey, spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service, said: “The sea was quite rough and the man ended up being swept off the rock. This meant our paramedic acted quickly by running into the sea to rescue him.
“The man was around 10 metres out at sea from the beach and uninjured. He was very distressed and cold when we got him back onto the shore, treated him and warmed him up.
“We would like to thank our paramedic for acting quickly to rescue the man, who was then taken to the Conquest Hospital.”
