Man found unconscious in Old Town with serious injuries remains in critical condition
A MAN who was taken to hospital with serious head and body injuries on Sunday morning remains in a critical condition.
George Gardiner, 27, was discovered by a member of the public lying unconscious near the adventure park complex on the A259, Seafront Road at around 6.30am.
He was taken to the Conquest Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition with multiple fractures.
Detective Inspector Rob Morland from East Sussex CID said: “We know that Mr Gardiner had been out drinking with friends from 4pm on Saturday (March 9) until 11.30pm.
“He was last seen in the Black Market pub on the Seafront at around 11.30pm. Where he then went afterwards and who he was with, remains a mystery.
“If you saw him or know his movements after 11.30pm until he was found lying unconscious at 6.30am on Sunday March 10, then please get in touch. Call 101 quoting Op Spring or alternatively leave an anonymous message with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Officers are continuing with local enquiries and viewing CCTV from the area. The police cordon that was around the area where Mr Gardiner was found has now been removed. I’d like to thank the community for their help and cooperation.”
