Jewellery created in bid to save Hastings pier
TWO pendants designed by a local jeweller are to be exhibited later this year to raise money for campaigners battling to restore Hastings pier.
The pieces by Jane Runchman have been made as part of the forthcoming Rooms For Ideas exhibition at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, which will run from November to January next year.
Both pieces of jewellery will be handmade in London’s Hatton Garden using 18 carat gold, diamonds, emeralds, rubellite and aquamarine.
One piece, inspired by St Leonards Bathing Pool, is being offered for sale now at a discounted price of £2,750 to supporters of Hastings pier and will raise money for both pieces to be made. The other piece, inspired by Hastings pier, will be sold after the exhibition to raise money for the Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust.
If anyone would like to buy one or both pieces of jewellery contact Tina Reid at the trust by emailing tina@hpwrt.co.uk.
