IT WAS all aboard for the annual Eastbourne RNLI Regatta over the bank holiday weekend.

Sovereign Harbour came alive for the three days of the bank holiday weekend with entertainment, a variety of stalls and attractions, live music and racing.

The annual regatta is the lifeboat's major fundraising event in Eastbourne.

This was the sixth year of the regatta, which has become a favourite in the Sovereign Harbour calendar.

More than 50,000 has been raised by the annual event over the years, with all funds going towards the cost of running the lifeboat station.

Yacht racing was one of the main attractions at the weekend, with crews from across the south-east coast taking part to compete for a range of trophies.

There was also the annual rowing race, which was once again won by the Eastbourne RNLI inshore lifeboat crew.

It wasn't all about competition, though, and novices had the chance to try their hand at dinghy-sailing and diving in a special tank, under expert tuition.

This year, the regatta coincided with the Eastbourne RNLI open day, and people had the chance to climb aboard the all-weather lifeboat and meet its volunteer crew.

As well as the waterborne activities, there were plenty of attractions for visitors to this year's event, including market stalls, a beer tent, and fun fair, with live music in the evenings.
