Firefighters in river rescue
Firefighters rescued a swan with a broken leg.
The bird was in distress in a river off Stone Pit Lane, near Henfield.
The RSPC was called and attended with a boat.
Firefighters wearing dry suits used a rescue sled to pull the swan to safety.
The bird was handed over to RSPCA officials after the incident yesterday (tuesday) afternoon.
