Cyclist killed in Ivyhouse Lane crash named

THE CYCLIST killed when he collided with a dustcart has been named as Lee Chapman.

The 23-year-old from Hastings was a keen dirt jump rider, and had been on his way to Coghurst Wood to try out some new jumps, on Tuesday (May 29), when the accident happened.

He was cycling alongside a friend when the accident happened at the junction with Ivyhouse Lane and Haywood Way at around 10.30am.

Police and paramedics attended, but sadly he died at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact 101.
