CRIME FILE: Vandalism and thefts in Worthing

NUMEROUS car tyres have been punctured by vandals, a burglary, damage to a van and a stolen wallet are all crimes highlighted by police in Worthing this week.

Vandalism

A DOZEN cars had their tyres punctured in Goring over the weekend of May 16 and 17.

Cars parked in Coleridge Crescent, Boxgrove, Henfield Close, Lychpole Walk and Newtimber Avenue were all targeted by vandals.

Van damaged

A VANDAL destroyed the lock on a van with a screwdriver but did not get inside it.

The Ford Escort van was parked in Parklands Avenue, Goring, when it was damaged between Friday, May 15 and Tuesday, May 19.

As well as the lock, the rear door of the white van was damaged.

Burglary

A BURGLAR with a sweet tooth broke into a house using a garden fork and stole mobile phones and a computer console.

The break-in happened in Orchard Avenue, Tarring, between 8.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday, May 14.

The burglar used a garden fork to open a window at the back of the house before climbing inside.

Before the burglar stole two mobile phones and a PlayStation, police say he tried to open a sweet tin.

Pick-pocket

A MAN noticed his wallet had been stolen from his back pocket while he was walking in Worthing town centre.

The wallet, containing credit cards, was stolen in Montague Street on Thursday, May 14.
