Crash victim taken to hospital
A DRIVER was taken to hospital this morning after his car was in collision with a van on Queensway in the rush hour.
The man, aged in his early 30s, was driving a red Nissan Micra when it came into contact with a white transit-type van at the junction with Crowhurst Road just after 8am.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off the Micra to put the driver on a long board to protect his spine.
Paramedics then took him to the Conquest Hospital for treatment. The driver of the van was not believed to have been injured.
