Council worker gets green light to begin work on trees
A COUNCIL worker has been given the go-ahead to carry out work on two trees in her back garden.
The owner of the house in Ravine Close applied for permission to prune and thin down a horse chestnut and thin down and reduce the crown of an oak tree every three to five years.
The borough planning committee was informed earlier this month the house is in a residential cul-de-sac off Hoads Wood Road.
The trees are clearly visible from Ravine Close and Linley Drive to the rear.
Permission to work on the trees was first granted to the owner back in October 1993 and renewed in April 1997 and March 2007.
A site visit was carried out by the borough arboriculturalist who found both trees to be in good health and the proposed work would have no adverse impact on the surrounding properties.
All nine councillors unanimously approved the application.
