Cattery needs unwanted gifts
A CAT rescue centre is appealing for people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents to help raise funds for its services.
Bluebell Ridge, which is based at Chowns Hill, will use the items as raffle or tombola prizes for the year, helping to raise much-needed funds.
Anyone giving their house a mad post-Christmas who feels that there are bits and pieces they no longer need and are suitable for the cattery’s Open Days can take them to Bluebell Ridge or ring 01424 752121, from 11am to 3pm.
There is also a shop in Western Road, Bexhill.
Myra Grove, manager, said: “Everyone at Bluebell Ridge would like to offer our sincere thanks for all the support received from the local community in 2012.”
Bluebell Ridge is owned and operated by the Sussex East and Hastings branch of the RSPCA.
It is a separate charity within the national body and is entirely self-financing.
Each year the branch has to raise more than £100,000 to keep the cattery open and this is done through fundraising events, pen sponsorship, donations, legacies and adoption fees.
The cattery does not receive any funding from the RSPCA.
