STUDENTS got information on a variety of jobs options at a careers fair hosted by Parkwood Sixth Form.

Last Wednesday (February 8) William Parker Sports College and Helenswood School hosted the event at the Phoenix Arts Centre.

Students from years 11, 12 and 13 had an opportunity to ask questions and receive information on careers from 40 stands, which included universities, colleges, apprenticeship schemes and local businesses.

Information was available on a wide variety of occupations, ranging from podiatry and hairdressing, to careers in the Army and further education.

The fair was sponsored by Superstitch, Croft Glass and Birchwood Ford.

Supported by the council, including the Mayor, Councillor Kim Forward, local business organisations and MP Amber Rudd, the event was deemed a great success. Any student at either school who missed the fair but would like further information on careers, can contact either Ms Byas, at William Parker Sports College or Mrs Cusack at Helenswood.
