Car windows smashed

TWO teenagers went on a car window smashing spree on Friday night.

They broke an incredible 18 windows as they walked along Buxton Drive, Bancroft Road and Grange Court Drive damaging one car after another.

The vandalism has caused a strong reaction from people living in the area according to Inspector James Scott of Bexhill station.

He commented: "It has created a lot of uproar in as much as locals have found out who did it. There has been a lot of repurcussion this week. We have 18 people with their car windows smashed who aren't very happy."

The damage took place around 10pm that evening when Sussex Police received several reports from member of the public who saw it happening.

Officers looked over the parked cars with broken windows and found blood on one of them.

A short time later there was a call from a nearby business premises where it was said youths had been seen, one of them with cuts to his hand.

Two youngsters were then arrested and taken to Hastings Custody Centre.

They have both been released on bail for further investigation to take place.
