Beach Concert line-ups announced

The line-ups for this year's Beach Concert have been unveiled with organisers promising the most exciting event ever.

Featuring as ever some of the town's top acts alongside the best up-and-coming talent, the festival is sure to draw the crowds again.

And this year for the first time ever the fun kicks off on Friday night with an indoor show at The Carlisle, with Under The Covers, Tommy Wants a Toy and Inseminate taking to the stage.

Ever-popular crowdpleaser Blair headlines on Saturday, with rock and rollers Slam leading Saturday's line-up. On both days the concert starts an hour earlier than usual at 1pm.

Organiser Tony Streeter said: "All proceeds from the weekend go to the RNLI. Over the past years we have raised more than 50,000 for them, and are hoping for a bumper fundraising event this year.

"The headliners Blair and Slam are immensely popular local acts, both of whom have appeared at the Beach Concert before, and are bound to get the crowd dancing.

"But we also have legendary local group the Lost Boys, the kings of jitterpop Colonel Mustard, the exhilarating rock covers band Dirty Scarlet, the funky jazzy grooves of RX53, popular local boys No Exit, Geoff Everett, one of the most highly regarded blues guitarists across Europe, Tangled Webb, returning after a several years' absence, and Arivmia, winners of the new bands competition at Hastings Music Festival."

The line-ups in full:

Saturday July 31 - Tangled Webb; Rob Ramsden; Dirty Scarlet; The Lost Boys; Geoff Everett Band; Arivmia; Blair.

Sunday 1 August - Sambalanco; Lumpy & The Lumpettes; RX53; No Exit; Colonel Mustard; Slam.
