Auction to be held for hospice and RNLI

A CHARITY art auction in aid of St Michael’s Hospice and the local RNLI will be taking place later this month.

The Dragon Bar in George Street, in the Old Town, is hosting the fundraiser on Thursday, January 31, from 7.30pm.

Up to 30 pieces, all donated by local and not so local artists, such as Leigh Dyer, Ben Southan, Lester Magoogan and Chris Roskell, will be auctioned on the night.

Richard Dennett, manager of the Dragon Bar, said: “We did a similar auction two years ago and raised more than £2,000 for the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, a cause close to my heart as my son attends there.”

A signed original by Rolling Stones and Small Faces guitarist Ronnie Wood will also be auctioned off on the night in aid of Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust.
