Armed robbery CCTV pictures
POLICE have released CCTV pictures from the armed robbery at Threshers on The Ridge this week.
Although they do not show the offender's face, officers are hoping the distinctive sporty clothing he wore might jog someone's memory.
The robber struck at the off-licence near to The Ridge fire station at 9.55pm on Saturday January 5.
He threatened a sales assistant with a handgun and demanded she open the till. However, in the confusion she was unable to open it and he ran off empty-handed.
He is described as aged 20-40 and about 5ft 9in tall. As shown in the pictures he was wearing a blue Adidas tracksuit and a yellow baseball cap.
Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to identity the offender or who has information which might assist them to contact them on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial number 1296 of the 05/01/08, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
