THE annual Front Row Fashion Show on Saturday will showcase the work of local designers who have taken Hollywood as their theme.
This is unlike most other fashion shows in that all the catwalk creations will feature re-worked vintage, recycled, or second hand items.
The event, featuring 10 designers and 40 models, is to take place at the Masonic Hall, in East Ascent, St Leonards, on November 12, at 7pm, and everyone attending is encouraged to embrace the Hollywood glamour.
Organiser Maika Crampton is looking forward to a spectacular show. “Everyone I know is involved in one way or another,” she said. “There are so many creative people around here who are happy to have exposure.”
The evening will begin with a performance from local soul singer Helen Sharpe, followed by the main catwalk show. The winners of the Charity Shop Challenge, an open competition to customise charity shop buys to the Hollywood theme, will be announced.
Maika said: “One of the designers this year, is one of the winners of last year’s Charity Shop Challenge.
Entertainment will also include a photo parlour, where guests can have professional photographs taken as mementos, a frock exchange, and an aftershow party, with DJs until 12.30am.
On Sunday, November 13, at the same venue will be a vintage fashion fair from 11am to 4.30pm, with a range of stalls, music, and refreshments. Tickets are £8 (£10 on the door), and can be bought from Butlers, in George Street, The Bullet Cafe, in Robertson Street, or Hastings information centre.
