St Leonards dad Phil Scott is flying after successfully taking part in the world’s biggest marathon series at the weekend.
Phil jetted out to the States to take part in the Loco Challenge.
He said: “It has that name as you have to be pretty crazy to attempt it. The challenge.
“It involved running two half marathons in two different countries in just one day.
“The challenge involved running the Dallas half marathon in Texas USA at 8am before flying across to Mexico for the second half marathon at 6.30pm in Mexico city.
“I completed the challenge in 4hrs 8seconds despite running in near on 30 degrees heat in Dallas and then running at the altitude of 2230 metres in Mexico city, in comparison to Hastings altitude of just 23metres, with just a few mini mountains thrown into both the race courses for good fun.
“Not only did I get the achievement of completing the challenge but I also scooped five different medals for completing the race weekend which had also included a 5k race on the Saturday.
“I then returned back home on the Monday flight.”
The loco challenge is organised by the Rocknroll Marathon Series the biggest marathon series in the world that has events across Europe, the USA, Mexico and Canada.
