Limited edition bike stolen

A RARE mountain bike, worth £2,000, was stolen from a car.

The item was taken by a thief overnight between 8.30pm last Monday and 1pm the next day from a parked Landrover Discovery in Railway Cottages, off Bexhill Road in St Leonards.

Police said the back window was removed before the limited edition 247 bike was taken.

It had a silver frame with a number of stickers on it and has distinctive red front forks.

The bike was a limited edition model and is valued at £2000.

PC Duncan Cleverley, of Hastings Police, said: “This bike is very distinctive and the owner would recognise it. It was worth £2,000.

“We would like to speak to anyone who has seen a bike matching this description being ridden since last Tuesday (December 7) and would particularly like to speak to owners of second-hand outlets or bike shops in the town who may have been offered the bike.”

Police can be contacted on 0845 60 70 999.
