JUST a brief note to express my dismay at Amber Rudd MP and her comment on BBC Southeast Today that ‘everyone is in favour of the Hastings - Bexhill Link Road’ .
I feel that she has abused both her position and the power of the media by saying something so wholeheartedly untrue.
You don’t have to be a protestor or write to papers to be against a scheme and claims that it will be good for the economy of the town fall by the way side when Hastings Council itself is axing 40 jobs.
This scheme will benefit the town in just one way. People will be able to drive around the town and then get snarled up on The Ridge with its three schools, hospital and fire station, of which the latter two rely on speed and ease of access.
I would say that its time that ‘our’ MP took time to meet the real people of the town and not just those who she knows will agree with her.
